Are you really on TikTok if you haven’t seen the Tamara saga?

TikTok user Tamara has had the app in a frenzy after she shared her strong stance labelling men as victims and women as the villains in society.

If you are a chronic TikTok user who spends hours doom-scrolling on the app, you probably have bumped into Tamara or heard someone talking about the whole saga, as the TikToker is currently trending for her opinion that has left a bitter taste in the mouths of many and caused a sort of uproar towards her.

The controversial figure has been posting content for some time now, however, her views have continued to gain traction as they have split the nation with one side condemning her, and the other rallying behind her to support her stance.

Tamara has built a name for herself as an ultimate defender of the male gender as she frequently condemns women for their actions against them. In some of her latest videos which she has now deleted, she claimed that the value of women depreciates once they give birth, which did not sit well with other women who have gone through this experience.

These women engaged Tamara and her followers by trying to highlight how this mentality can be dangerous in the bigger picture as it has contributed to the misogyny and sexism which is rampant in the country.

Furthermore, these users remind Tamara of the harsh reality that the people she is advocating for today are more than likely to turn against her, as per the national GBV statistics. These viewers urge her to adopt a less narrow-minded way of looking at the dynamics between men and women in South Africa.

Other videos where she advocates for men have also gained traction as men on TikTok hail Tamara for what they deem as heroic acts. According to these men, Tamara is doing the Lord’s work as women constantly perpetuate double standards that benefit them. The TikToker has reportedly garnered substantial funds from these TikTok users who agree with her.
