When it comes to hard work and an impressive work ethic, it appears no one is doing it quite like Bergville’s very own Sjava. Shortly after dropping his highly anticipated Inkanyezi EP, the much-loved musician has announced dates for his ‘2018 Tour’ set to take place this year.

Born Jabulani Hadebe, Sjava’s story and rise to fame and success has been an admirable one, as he embodies the classic ‘started from the bottom’ trope and has slowly become one of Mzansi’s most consistent and popular artists. Although the journey has not just been smooth sailing, Sjava is now comfortably reaping the rewards of sweat and tears that have gone into establishing him as one of the more exciting musicians, but more importantly as one of the better live performers in the country, with an impressive and diverse discography that caters to various demographics.

Shortly after announcing the highly anticipated Inkanyezi EP, the artist has decided that he will not be letting his foot off our necks as he makes one exciting announcement after another. After a successful Isibuko and 2016 Tour last year, the ‘Indlalifa’ has revealed that a ‘2018 Tour’ is now in the works, where he will most likely perform the biggest hits from his Umqhele and Umphako projects.

Although the news of the tour itself is exciting, after much begging, pleading and crying from fans, the fan-favourite musician is finally bringing his tour to the Mother City, after leaving it out of his highly popular 2016 Tour last year. He has also added cities such as Bloemfontein and Emalahleni to his schedule, probably due to the immense success of last year’s tours.

With less than 24 hours since the announcement, fans across the country have began planning which leg of the tour they will be attending, revealing that this tour is must-see material and they would not be missing it for the world.

This overwhelming response from South Africans is a testament to Sjava’s impact on Mzansi’s music industry, as he has managed to achieve his success through creating a unique and authentic sound that remains true to him and his experiences growing up in this rainbow nation. He has been able to touch the hearts of this diverse population, even with his heavy use of his native language isiZulu.

This has led to a great demand for Sjava’s shows across the country, with internet users campaigning for their own cities to be included in the next round.
