Just when we thought the best had come and gone for mzansi’s rising global superstar Tyla, she pulled off another major win. The pretty girl from Joburg is set to take the Billboard Music Awards (BMA) stage as a performer this December.

The BMAs are a popular American awards show that has been around for some time now and this year, they are set to host the 31st edition of the coveted ceremony as they shine a light on a handful of artists that have stood out from the rest of their peers and delivered chart-topping projects. After bagging eight BMA nominations, it was only inevitable for the show organisers to extend an invite to the Shake Ah hitmaker.

In a joint Instagram post, the official BBMAs account alongside Tyla announced the exciting news to her fans and supporters who were more than thrilled to help the youngster celebrate yet another win and tick another milestone on her bucket list of every artist’s dream.

One cannot help but marvel at how 2024 was Tyla’s breakthrough as she has managed to achieve unimaginable heights with an authentic sound and star power that has not been seen in a while. As she prepares for the BMAs, she also gears up for her highly anticipated homecoming tour where she will be performing in the Mother City as well as her hometown, Johannesburg. While impatiently waiting on these shows, her fans can feast on her recently released video for her smash hit Shake-Ah, which also gives a nostalgic 2000s kind of feel, similarly to the ‘Push 2 Start’ video that she also recently released.
