An excursion awaits at the charming town of Swellendam which has many must-do activities and hidden treasures in the heart of the Western Cape.

There is something for everyone, whether you want to explore the streets and old buildings or just spend time in nature. A walk through Marloth Nature Reserve or a visit to The Continent of Sulina for an enchanted garden, art galleries, and the town’s golf club are just about the many attractions of Swellendam.

Here are some of the top-rated places to try out if you find yourself in this town:

Marloth Nature Reserve

Marloth Nature Reserve offers a serene getaway into the outdoors. According to the Cape Nature website, “Marloth is about 140 square kilometres – about 15 km long and 10 kilometres wide.” It has hiking trails, fauna, and breathtaking views of the Langeberg Mountains, a great place for outdoor lovers to explore South Africa’s diverse flora and fauna.

The Continent of Sulina

Who says you have to let go of that inner childhood? According to their website, the goal is for everyone to experience the enchantment of the Faerie world and be reminded of what it was like to be a kid again. A good childhood is something that can be achieved at any time! The Continent of Sulina is located at 37 Buitekant St, Swellendam.

Swellendam Golf Club
