Yizo Yizo star returns to TV after battling addiction

Former Yizo Yizo star Innocent Masuku is set to make his return to television, this time as a presenter, after overcoming years of struggle with drug addiction.

Known for his memorable roles on Zone 14 as Maradona Khumba, Yizo Yizo as Bobo, and Baksteen on the SABC1 drama series Tshisa, the actor once captivated audiences with his talent. However, behind the scenes, he was privately fighting a battle that cost him his career, relationships, and financial security.

Innocent has been vocal about his drug problem, and appeared on youth events and radio stations as well as on Podcast and Chill, he shared how addiction cost him everything when he was in his prime in the entertainment industry.

Moja Love has now offered him the chance to return to television with a great presenting gig. Innocent is the presenter of an upcoming show on the channel called, Buyela Ekhaya. This show focuses on helping homeless people return to their homes.

On Podcast and Chill with MacG. Innocent revealed that his addiction cost him around R500,000 on drugs and led to an estimated R5 million in lost industry earnings. In a shocking disclosure, he recounted going three to four days without sleep while using cocaine and even passing out for three days.
