The science behind why some bodies handle illnesses better

Have you ever been curious about why some people seem to recover from illnesses so easily while others have difficulty? The science underlying this observation shows a connection between lifestyle factors and the immune system.

Here are intriguing processes that affect our ability to withstand illnesses and the steps we may take to improve our defences. So, the goal here is to improve your immune system, that is where the issue lies.

The News In Health publication claims, “Every day while you eat, sleep, work, and play, battles are being fought throughout your body. You rarely feel it. But bacteria, viruses, and other microbes are constantly invading from the outside world.”

According to Cleveland Clinic, “Your immune system is a large network of organs, white blood cells, proteins and chemicals. These parts all work together to protect you from germs and other invaders. Your immune system also helps your body heal from infections and injuries.”

Your immune system can be weakened by a variety of illnesses, drugs, and lifestyle choices, which might hinder it from protecting you as effectively as it should. Get in touch with a healthcare professional if you have persistent symptoms or feel like you’re always sick, the above clinic explains.

The Health publication claims that the below healthy lifestyle habits can be followed:

  • Lower your stress levels: To reduce your cortisol levels, try engaging in stress-relieving activities. Stress management techniques including deep breathing, meditation, and relaxing music may be beneficial.
  • Balanced diet: A strong immune system depends on nutrients from fruits and vegetables, such as zinc, iron, vitamin C, and omega-3 fatty acids. For instance, omega-3s found in fatty fish aid in the production of immunological cells.
  • Regular exercise: Increases circulation, which aids in the production of antibodies. Additionally, exercise lowers stress, which strengthens your immune system.
