With the first half of the international rugby season now officially over, Springbok captain Siya Kolisi has made use of his well-deserved break to visit a school that has offered the national rugby team some much-needed support during the Rugby Championship competition.

The two-time World Cup winner recently returned to Cape Town where he visited the vibrant, Wynberg Boys High School. Earlier this year the school in collaboration with the cellular network MTN joined forces to render the iconic “Hoya, Hoya!” war cry.

After the video of the boys hit the internet, it has since become one of the most trending videos on social media platforms, TikTok and Instagram.

Siya later referenced the video in their 18 – 12 victory over New Zealand in Cape Town after thanking the Capetonians for continuing to support the Springboks.

In his recent visit to the school, Siya said: “We watched your video. We honestly love you so much and it encourages us a lot. The fact that the way we played made you think of doing something like this really inspired us. So honestly anything is possible.

“And this vibe is too much owens (slang for guys), its lekker yoh!  – I wish I played in front of a vibe like this. Thank you we appreciate you and wish you all the best for the rest of the year.”

While the boks may be on a short break for now, their job for the year is far from over as they are set to return to action in November where they will face Scotland, England, and Wales in their outgoing tour.
