Makhadzi’s former dancer alleges he was paid less than Limpopo boy

by Samantha Mochele

A live video shared by Maphepha Ndaba on Instagram took social media by storm, when Rush Mabanana, a former dancer for the beloved Venda sensation Makhadzi, made explosive claims regarding his treatment within her dance crew. The dancer accused Makhadzi of grossly underpaying him, stating that he earned significantly less than fellow dancer Limpopo boy, despite juggling multiple responsibilities as both a dancer and driver.

But the drama doesn’t end there. Rush Mabanana further revealed a shocking incident that occurred during their time in Botswana. He alleged that he had to take the fall for Makhadzi during a near-arrest situation. Currently thriving in Australia, Rush Mabanana is not only dancing but also conducting dance tours and teaching people around the world.

Adding to the tension, Limpopo Boy shared in an interview on the Limpopo Podcast that he and Rush Mabanana do not get along. He revealed that both he and Mabanana sport similar hairstyles, with an uppercut cut and blonde dye. Limpopo Boy claimed that people have used his name to get close to Makhadzi and secure dancing gigs, some would make his hairstyle to claim they dancing for him all while rocking a similar haircut to his.

With Rush Mabanana boldly dishing out these allegations social media users have expressed a wide range of opinions in the comments.

One user said: “Where there’s smoke there’s fire, for everyone who’s involved I hope everyone gets fairly treated. This guy sounds hurt. May he be compensated whatever he is owed. He sounds scorned. Imagine the lengths he would go to settle whatever score. Also, why is Makhadzi somehow having issues of being termed a bad payer, where there are money issues she is somehow entangled? I hope she deals with people fairly and contractually because cancel culture is real.”

Another user added, “But why is he insulting Makhadzi? It says a lot about him.”
