At just 20 years old, and at the beginning of his entertainment career, the future looks bright for Skeem Saam actor Mahlatsi Moropo.

Last month the talented actor won what may have been his first major accolade after being awarded as the Viewer’s Best Choice Actor at this year’s Royalty Soapie Awards for his portrayal of the role of Letetswe in the popular soapie.

The talented actor first auditioned for the role while still a high school scholar in 2021. In an interview with SABC Education he previously highlighted just how much opportunity meant to him, revealing that he was ecstatic when he secured the role.

“I had received an email telling me that I bagged the role of ‘Letetswe,’ and it was one of my happiest moments,” he said.

Fast forward three years later and he continues to captivate audiences with his gift.

This has now allowed him to chase some personal goals outside of the world of drama, such as purchasing his very first car.

In a recent interview with the news and entertainment publication Daily Sun he opened up about what an accomplishment that has been.

“This is my first car. Fun fact, I’ve given her a name already. I call her Snowy. It still feels unreal. I got my new baby a few days back and still feel excited when I get inside.”

“I wanted to own a car for comfort and convenience. It was on my bucket list for this year and marking it has made me so happy.”

In his reflection on some of the milestones reached this year, he shared that he was grateful for how far he has come and for those who have helped him along the way.

“It’s a reminder that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be, doing what I love. It gives me a confidence boost and motivates me to keep pushing boundaries and striving for even greater heights.”
