The funeral arrangements for the late businesswoman Thabiso Sikwane have officially been revealed.
The prominent radio broadcaster and ex-wife to radio presenter DJ Fresh passed away on Saturday 31 August just hours before she was scheduled to celebrate her 50th birthday.
The family of the TV personality recently released a statement confirming the memorial and funeral details.
The statement read: “Family, friends, colleagues, and supporters of the renowned TV and radio broadcaster and producer, Thabiso Sikwane, are respectfully invited to celebrate and honour the life of a woman whose warm spirit, Christ-centeredness, intelligence, and wisdom touched the lives of many.”
“The memorial and funeral service will be held on Friday, 6 September 2024, at 3C Ministries Church in Irene, Centurion, starting at 9 a.m.”
The family further revealed that a private cremation ceremony would be held at a later stage to allow them to say their final goodbyes.
In a prior interview with SMag a family spokesperson, Thami Ngubeni revealed that Thabiso, well known for her vibrant voice on radio stations such as Voice of Soweto, SAFM, Power FM, and Kaya FM fell ill on Wednesday the 28th of August, and was admitted to hospital.
It was revealed that her 50th birthday was in July, but she opted to celebrate it this past Saturday, 31 August.
“It was a belated birthday celebration scheduled yesterday (Saturday) in Johannesburg. Thabiso turned 50 on July 3. She was on a missionary trip, and she decided to celebrate her birthday in the service of the Lord,” said Thami.
“She only managed to schedule her 50th on August 31 to celebrate it with everyone.”
Sadly, she did not live to experience the joy of the festivities. Meanwhile, she has left behind three children whom she shared with DJ Fresh.
