Tips to get rid of unwanted facial hair

Facial hair can be exhausting to deal with, especially if you are always trying to go for the smooth skin effect.

Achieving this can be tricky and it is understandable. Perhaps it’s because of the work and effort that comes with it – and also bearing in mind that it is skin that we are talking about, a very sensitive organ.

According to MedicalNewsToday, “The skin on the face is more sensitive than skin elsewhere on the body. When removing facial hair, be sure to look after the skin by cleansing and moisturizing afterwards.”

The below publications provide tips on how to remove unwanted facial hair:

According to the health-focused publication Healthline, “Waxing is an effective way to remove all the hair in an area that can last for several weeks before you have to repeat the procedure.”

The above health hub also suggests tweezing, an affordable and efficient method of getting rid of face hair.

“Depilatory creams are another option for facial hair removal. The results can last longer than shaving and these creams may be cheaper than waxing,” the publication further adds.

The American Academy of Dermatology Association (AAD), suggests threading if you want to keep some hair in areas like your eyebrows as it removes only the hair you do not want. It is far quicker than plucking and just as accurate.

Many hairs can be removed at once and results may last for four to five weeks, the above association states.

The dermatology experts mentioned above also suggest laser hair removal where your hair’s pigment (colour) absorbs the light beam that the laser emits. This may eventually damage the hair follicle, making it impossible for the hair to regrow.
