Papa Penny joins MK party in parliament

Former president and uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party leader Jacob Zuma recently swore in eight members who are set to join parliament.

According to the news publication, IOL, the MK leader elected eight official members of parliament who previously worked at various State-Owned Entreprises such as  Brian Molefe, Siyabonga Gama, and Lucky Montana including musician and politician Eric Kulani Giyani, famously known as, Papa Penny or Penny Penny.

Papa Penny becomes one of the few members of parliament to ditch the ANC for the MK party. Confirming this news ahead of this year’s elections, he told news publication, TimesLive, “I am not a member of the MK party. The party is a home for the disgruntled people of SA. I suggest people vote for the party.”

The above-mentioned source also stated that close sources alleged that the musician was not treated well by his former party, as the party was not taking serious actions towards the socio-economic issues faced by members of the community.

Speaking to news publication, Eyewitness News, regarding these eight members’ transition into the party, MK chief whip, Sihle Ngubane said, “That when white monopoly capital discards the professionalism of our people, we will always go and take them from wherever they are in the dustbin, clean them up, wash them up and put them back on the pedestal.”
