House music record producer and DJ Oscar Mbongeni Ndlovu, famously known as Oscar Mbo’s pronunciation of his name received a mixed reaction from online users as they felt that he was using ‘twang’ to it.

Maybe we have been pronouncing his name wrong and we do not know it, as in a viral TikTok video trending online X (formerly known as Twitter) some users heard him say, ‘Oscar Mbyo’or ‘Oscar M.B.O.’

At the cover reveal of the GQ magazine Success Issue event for August’s print issue set to celebrate his recent partnership with fashion brand Steve Madden, Oscar Mbo introduced himself in a way that had many internet users divided.

Taking to Instagram, Oscar shared the print issue with the caption, “Known for his distinctive style, musical genius, and sharp business sense, @oscarmbo ‘s latest collaboration with the esteemed @stevemaddensa Madden is a perfect match. In the latest GQ Success Issue, captured by the renowned @trevor_stuurman, Oscar opens up about his life journey, collaborating with Steve Madden and secrets to success like never before.”

Many X users shared their thoughts on the video with some laughing at the way he pronounced his name.

One user said:

Finding out that the Mbo in Oscar Mbo is M-B-O (as in each letter sounded out) has been mildly unsettling. I found via a Felo Le Tee mix where he did a shout out and said, “This is Oscar M-B-O and you’re listening to…”, I said “I beg your finest pardon?!” pic.twitter.com/lR1BtZ9ZBX

He has literally called himself Oscar M.B.O from the beginning when he did those podcasts under golden boys https://t.co/x06hSQF1An
