Durban-born DJ and record producer Thuthuka Wandile Zindlovu, more popularly known as Dlala Thukzin is gearing up for what he promises to be Durban’s biggest event. Partnering with the Durban tourism office, the artist is set to host ‘Dlala Thukzin Weekend’ at the Amphitheatre.

The gqom sensation has had immense success and has established himself as a household name both locally and internationally. His unique ability to seamlessly blend gqom and afro tech sounds to create a new sound has put him above his peers.

Before hosting this much-anticipated event, the iPlan hit-maker will headline and represent Mzansi at the ‘AMA Fest’ taking place in the United Kingdom, alongside other South African artists such as Kamo Mphela, LeeMcKrazy, Daliwonga, and Musa Keys.

Taking to his Instagram, the record producer shared the news with his followers, reassuring them that this is not an event anyone would want to miss. He has coined it the ‘big weekend’ which is a popular term among the youth to emphasise the anticipation for the event.

The event is set to have the perfect blend of international artists, as well as local upcoming artists looking for a chance to prove themselves to the masses. Dladla Mshunqisi, Dj Lag Mthunzi and Njelic have already been named as part of the line-up.

“Ngizizwa ngishawa uvalo because this is the biggest event we’ve ever witnessed. Ngicela sishayeleni iDurban Tourism ihlombe for coming on board to make this even bigger,” he captions.

“This event is big and it was a combination of Durban’s greats coming together and forming this magnificent Dlala Weekend. Dogg Durban and his FamUs team as well as myself and my formidable team, we came together and started this thing… More than anything we’re selling an experience to people and we strive to provide the best. We’re trying to create permanent music, so people should expect an album this year,” the record producer told TimesLive.
