Fan favourite Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Neo Maema is making headlines after he shockingly is reported to have gotten married this past weekend. The news comes as s surprise as the athlete has prioritised keeping his private life indeed private.

The young soccer star has stolen the hearts of many South Africans not only for his skills on the field but for his great looks as well. He has established himself as the people’s crush, trending often when posting himself or posted by his club for all to see.

Although the timeline is not specified, it is reported that Neo and his partner, whose name is Tsholofelo Phoko have been together and in a long-term relationship for some time now. Their ceremony was held at what seems to be the athletes’ home, and they are seen wearing their traditional matching outfits, ready to cement their love and union in front of their families and their community.

Entertainment commentator MDN News reported the news on Neo’s nuptials via X (formerly Twitter), showing pictures of the beautiful couple donning cultural regal seTswana attire, ready to begin the rest of their lives together.

Although surprised by the news, users took to the comments to congratulate the youngster and to furthermore commend him on making the correct decision in marrying his long-term partner as opposed to getting blinded by the bright lights and making impulsive decisions instead, which is common with men in the football industry.

“Beautiful! These boys need to get married so they can focus,” a Facebook user says.
