South Africa’s comedy scene is in for a treat this September as renowned comedian Tumi Morake takes centre stage at the Joburg Theatre.

On the 22 September, Tumi will headline South Africa’s Best Comedy Show, delivering an afternoon of laughter and good vibes.

Joining Tumi on stage will be a stellar lineup of comedic talent, including Skhumba, Felix Hlophe, Uzalo actor Simphiwe Majozi as MC, Simphiwe Shembe and Mashabela.

Tumi shared with TRUELOVE that she’s eager to bring her energy and positive vibes to the show. To keep her material fresh, she avoids rushing new content and adjusts it based on the audience’s vibe, staying true to her current experiences.

“I’m excited to bring my energy and good vibes to the show. I do not rush into new material especially if it feels undercooked, so I try to keep it fresh by making sure I tweak it to the vibe of the audience in the room. The best way is to stay true to where I am at in that moment.”

Following her win on Prime Video’s LOL: Last One Laughing and a successful Women’s Day show, Tumi attributes her career growth to viewing each project as a new opportunity to explore and play.

“I am a playful person by nature, so I approach my projects as a new opportunity to play,” Tumi shared with the publication.

Tickets for this event are available on Webtickets and range from R250 to R350.
