DJ Tira’s son, Junior Khathi, better known as Tank The Rockstar, has recently shared his experiences of growing up under the public eye. Tank, who stars in the Showmax Original reality show Born Into Fame, has opened up about the unique pressures and benefits of being born into fame.

According to The Citizen, Tank acknowledges that while growing up in the spotlight offers some advantages, it also comes with challenges. He mentioned that his father’s busy schedule limits their time together and that people often expect him to be like his dad, which makes it hard for him to be himself.

In a recent Q&A with Showmax for Born Into Fame, Phila Mandlingozi was asked if they had ever taken a taxi. Tank revealed that he has never been in a taxi, when asked about whether his parents’ fame influenced his current success, Tank acknowledged their significant role, stating that they helped him reach where he is today. He noted that now, everyone wants to take pictures with him, highlighting the privileges of being born into fame.

In addition, IOL states that Tank finds the show to be engaging and rewarding, describing it as “really dope” and appreciating the increased interaction it has brought him.

He further emphasised the importance of education for his children, stating that he will guide them through their journey to success as they will be born into fame.
