Award-winning musician and songwriter Nomfundo Moh shares her experience with dealing with cyberbullying.
Cyberbullying in the country remains a problem with some victims even committing suicide because of receiving mean comments, Nomfundo details her encounter with bullying.
Speaking to news publication, SundayWorld, Nomfundo said, “I used to cry every day, every time I saw a negative comment on social media. My mother would tell me not to mind that one or two comments. She would tell me to focus on the ones that are showing me love. To delete the negative comments and show the people that are showing me love back.”
Many celebrities in the past have come out to stand against cyberbullying as people in the comments say whatever they want to say without thinking about the next person.
The above-mentioned source adds that the musician was often cyberbullied for her petite body and the way she dresses.
Despite facing cyberbullying, Nomfundo has achieved remarkable success at the young age of 24. She was recently featured on the Apple Music Alpha playlist, alongside artists Elaine, Nanette, and international DJ Uncle Waffles. The playlist aims to showcase female artists in their respective genres during Women’s Month.
She says, “Not everyone can break chains meant to limit their creativity. Only a superhuman can conquer such. It is an honour to be featured on Apple Music’s Alpha campaign. We are about to break more chains through our music.”
