Sihle Ndaba defends herself against social media bullies

“Be better, do better” – These were the words of former Scandal! Actress Sihle Ndaba after finding herself at the centre of public scrutiny on the social media platform TikTok.

The actress who is known for having portrayed roles in several South African productions recently found herself a victim of online bullying when she shared a playful video on TikTok as a way to engage with her followers. While the video was meant to be in the spirit of entertainment, things quickly got out of hand when users began coming at the star, criticising her outward appearance.

One user took it one step further by commenting: “She is dying soon this one.”

This eventually forced the Sihle to set matters straight.

Heavily angered by the comment she took to TikTok to share another video in which she said: “I do not respond to nonsense, but there seems to be a tendency towards familiarity.”

“When I posted that video, which you can refer to, it was just a joke because I wanted to interact with you guys. But such comments such as this one saying I am dying soon is unacceptable.”

She further added that social media bullying is not okay nor is commenting on people’s weight.

“You don’t know me […] Just in case you didn’t know, my name is Sihle Ndaba, and I am an actress. That is what I do for a living, and I love people, and I show up for your guys.”

She later added that she is most disappointed that it was black people commenting bad things about other black people.
