Following an incident that nearly saw her lose her life, renowned singer Rethabile Khumalo hopes to put the past behind her and focus on her future.

Last month, her mother, fellow singer Winnie Khumalo shared a post appealing to fans to keep her daughter in prayer. This comes after the singer was rushed to hospital and was supposedly “fighting for her life.”

At the time, Winnie alleged that the singer was food poisoned by a jealous friend and had to undergo multiple operations.

Following the ordeal, the singer later made progress and was discharged from the hospital – only for it to be short-lived and being readmitted to the medical room.

“Please pray for me… I am back in hospital, the pain is unbearable,” she wrote.

Taking to Instagram, she later shared that she was making steady progress and would be back to her normal self – a promise that seems to have come true.

While still in a state of recovery, the singer recently had an interview with the news and entertainment publication Sunday World, where she touched on the horrible experience that she had to endure.

In her interview, she told the publication that she did not want to dwell on what transpired since it was a horrible experience.

“Whatever happened should be a lesson to everyone, and I am not opening any criminal case but looking forward to the future and focusing on pushing the song I dropped. God will deal with that woman.”

“Regarding my healing journey, I have received so much love, prayers, and support from everyone who cares.”

She added that she has learnt a great lesson from this experience and will be extra cautious about who surrounds her.
