For over two decades, actor and musician Zulu Boy, born Mxolisi Mgingqeni Majozi, has been a significant figure in South Africa’s entertainment industry.

From his early days to his current success, Zulu Boy has faced numerous challenges, using each obstacle as a stepping stone to further his career and personal growth.

In an interview with Daily Sun, he reflects on the moments that have shaped his journey.

In a video shared by @Phuti_Mathobela on X, Zulu Boy emphasised the significance of learning and growing from past experiences.

“It’s very important to look at every step you took in the past. Identify your mistakes and work on them. This is how I survived all these years in the entertainment industry as an actor and musician. I always make sure that I go back to my archives and do better than yesterday,” he said.

One of the defining aspects of Zulu Boy’s career is his ability to transform challenges into opportunities. Whether dealing with industry setbacks or personal hurdles, he has consistently found ways to turn adversity into success.

Zulu Boy’s career is not without its controversies. He is currently in arbitration with Rhythm World Productions, the team behind Mzansi Magic’s hit drama uMkhokha: The Curse. The dispute came after Zulu Boy was re-cast without his knowledge.

Originally slated to portray the lead role of Mlungisi, Zulu Boy was unexpectedly replaced by Nkanyiso Mchunu. According to the actor, the production company sent him an agreement for the role in Durban, which he accepted as reported by IOL.

In addition to his legal battles, Zulu Boy was at loggerheads with a powerful sangoma named Mpamehlangene. The sangoma sent Zulu Boy a warning demanding an apology for calling him a liar. The dispute centres around accusations that Mpamehlangene stole Zulu Boy’s car.
