Speaking to Daily Sun, Somnandi said the film producers discovered his acting potential from they way he arranges his music videos, and realised that he could act.

“Although it was my first time to be on set for a film, it was easy for me because I’m familiar with a camera when I’m doing my music videos,” he said.

Another singer who would like to broaden her horizons to the world of acting is Makhosazana Masongo better known as Azana.

In an interview with SowetanLIVE, she said, “I’d like to play a role not too far from who I am. A character percieved as shy but slowly breaks and grows into herself. A character that isn’t afraid to do risky things and push remarkable boundaries,” said Azana.
