
Kairo Forbes, the daughter of the late rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and DJ Zinhle won the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in the Favourite African Kidfluencer category.
The nine-year-old received her award at a watch party which was held at Montecasino in Fourways, Johannesburg.
Kairo faced tough competition going up against Dream Catchers Academy, Biko’s Mana, DJ Wysei, and Boluwatife Balogun.
“It feels amazing,” a very excited Kairo said after receiving her award.

“This one’s for you, Daddy,” Kairo said in a social media post. She went on to thank Nickelodeon, her family and fans for their support.
“Thank you @nickelodeon_africa KCA for my nomination and congratulations to all the other nominees. Thank you to my family and EVERYONE who voted for me!
“I’m very happy and I appreciate your support. I hope that I inspire other kids to have dreams and that they have family that will support their dreams. Thank you, God, for all your blessings.”
DJ Zinhle replied to her daughter’s post: “Seeing you that happy gave me such relief… Your little heart has been through a lot. I pray for more happiness in your life. Congratulations baby.”
Kairo has amassed 1.5 million followers on the social media platform Instagram and is an ambassador for a few big brands.
SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star (voiced by Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke) hosted the ceremony as the animated show celebrates its 25th anniversary.
The 37th Annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards ceremony was held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.
