Thebe Mogane to celebrate 30 years in the industry

Legendary kwaito singer, Thebe Mogane celebrates three decades in the industry with style, as he gears to serenade his supporters at Tigers Milk in Pavilion Mall, Durban at the weekend.

With 30 years in the game, Thebe has released 12 albums and is known for his groovy songs namely; Bula Buti, Ungawa Kum and Lenyora to name a few.

In an interview with the news and entertainment publication, TshisaLIVE he said, “I have 120 songs on iTunes, I say it’s a journey to celebrate my hard work of good music over the years. Of course I’ve witnessed the ups and downs in the music scene but that hasn’t resulted in me calling it quits, so I’m not quitting- I’m soldiering on,” said Thebe.

Adding to that he told the publication about his upcoming celebration of his milestone in the music industry at the weekend.

“This weekend I’ll be celebrating my three decades in the music scene at Tigers Milk in Pavilion. I’m going to record the Legacy album which will be going with my documentary for the 30 years in music,” he added.

According to Briefly, the kwaito legend revealed that he has been working with Kabza De Small on his upcoming music which will be on the Legacy album. Thebe said he admired how younger artists are getting more value from their work, and also mentioned that working with DJ Sumbody before his tragic death, and looks forward to celebrating his career.

According to the above mentioned publication, Bathu honoured several South African music legends including Thebe for their impact on the industry.
