Limpopo premier Phophi Ramathuba congratulates Makhadzi on BET win

Limpopo premier, Dr Phophi Ramathuba has extended her earnest congratulations to music sensation Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona popularly known as Makhadzi, following her victory at the 2024 BET Awards recently.

The BET award-winner is an inspiration to many, as she hails from Ha-Mashamba, a small town in Limpopo. Her humble beginnings did not stop her from dreaming big, which ultimately earned her international recognition with her music.

She recently won the viewer’s choice: Best New International Act in Los Angeles, California in the US.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the premier shared a statement where she sent her congratulatory message to Makhadzi.

In the statement, the premier said Makhadzi’s unique and powerful voice, combined with her vibrant energy and undeniable stage presence has captivated audiences around the world. This award is a testament to her hard work, dedication and passion for her craft.

She added that Limpopo is immensely proud of Makhadzi’s achievement and looks forward to witnessing her continued success on the global stage.

Another one shed light on the latest reveal from Makhadzi, that she borrowed money from the loan sharks to get to the award ceremony.

Makhadzi will be welcomed back at OR Tambo Airport on the 3rd of July, according to TshisaLIVE.
