In music streaming, breaking records is one of the biggest achievements and indicators of talent and widespread popularity. Recently, South African musician Dudu Ngwenya better known as Lady Du achieved a milestone by becoming the highest-streamed female artist on Spotify.

Lady Du has swiftly risen through the ranks of the music scene with her unique blend of amapiano, a genre that has captivated audiences globally with its infectious beats and vibrant rhythms. Amapiano, originating from South Africa, has rapidly gained traction worldwide, and Lady Du has emerged as one of its brightest stars.

Taking to Instagram, she posted a heartfelt video where tears welled up as she received an award at the ceremony. In addition to the video, she penned a heartfelt message of gratitude:

“God knows my heart! How I even wrote this song last week is wild!
“No manager, no professional team, I work with people who are like family, Nomvula who runs all my businesses and bookings, my partner and Makhilela who are my road managing team and DJ, and my dancers.

I have the most amazing support system you guys don’t know how much this means to me, to be independent and achieve all of this, with my book coming out soon, this is God’s display of himself! He made this happen. To the amazing team at Spotify @lookatophiona, Jodie you guys have been a big support system to all artists

You are a true definition of what artists need. To all upcoming artists, you need people in your circle who believe in you more than you believe in yourself! Use what you have don’t be pressured by anything, love what you do that will keep you going.,” she wrote.
