Infamous convicted Facebook rapist Thabo Bester told the court that he wants a death sentence due to his suffering in prison.

In 2022, Thabo Bester became popular when he escaped the Mangaung Correctional Centre and lived amongst the public. However, his freedom was cut short when pictures of him circulated online, causing internet users to identify him as the Facebook rapist. This is the name he was known by because he used the social media platform to lure women by making them think he was part of a modelling agency.

In a recent court trial, Thabo decided to go on a rant where he complained about his treatment while in prison. He mentioned being prohibited from wearing his branded clothing by Correctional Services and that he was compelled to purchase new items to avoid causing an incorrect impression.

As per reports by IOL, Thabo said, “I am not the worst inmate in this country, I don’t have the highest counts,” adding, “I have three counts but I am the most popular inmate in this country for no reason because of the political issues that I have in my capacity that have nothing to do with these legal proceedings.”

He further explained that his partner in crime, none other than the celebrity doctor Nandipha Magumdumane was innocent and should not be prosecuted for something that had nothing to do with her.

“I have more than enough evidence to prove that this thing is much more than just average people working at G4S who just decided to release me. It is highly impossible to do that without political power, with other high offices involved in this issue,” said Thabo.

Concluding his rant, he told the court that he wished to get a death sentence due to being treated differently in court.
