Skeem Saam actress Harriet Manamela, known for her portrayal of Meiki Maputla on the SABC 1 drama, recently took to Instagram to commend her colleague Hellen Bright, who plays the character Melita on the show.

In her heartfelt post, Harriet expressed her admiration stating, “Her sweet humble self is nothing compared to the seductive Melita. Hearing how naughty she is, makes me laugh she’s hitting the highest note. Love her to bits, Thank you for your love & support dearest child.”

Bright, deeply touched by Manamela’s words, responded with equal warmth, saying, “Aah Ausie @harrietmanamela. Thank you so much. I am deeply moved. Why are you making me tearful in the early morning? I love and honour you. I pray for you. Your love and kindness uplift one’s soul in such a beautiful way. Your warmth exudes so much healing—it’s truly remarkable and a blessing to share a workspace with you. I love you, Sis.”

In early February Skeem Saam announced that Harriet would be temporarily replaced by Florence Masebe due to extended sick leave.  This raised concerns among viewers of Skeem Saam regarding Harriet’s health. The actress informed the public that she had fully recovered following hip replacement surgery.

“May I take this moment to say I have recovered, I had hip replacement surgery beginning of the year hence I was given a break from shooting. Thank you to everyone for wishing me well.”
