In the heat of South African politics, a storm is brewing for DA for allegedly using former “7de Laan” actor Pierre van Pletzen, known for his role as Oubaas van Zyl, in what is perceived as a bid for votes.

According to The South African, The Democratic Alliance (DA) faces criticism on social media following a tweet by Alan Winde, the DA Premier of the Western Cape, featuring a picture of Pierre van Pletzen,’ wearing a DA blue political party t-shirt.

In a campaigning bid for votes, Alan captioned the tweet, “Even ‘Oubaas’ agrees that the Western Cape works!”

It was the mention of the 7de Laan character that sparked controversy, with some users highlighting Oubaas’ character and questioning the DA’s choice of association.

One X user defined the character Oubaas, adding:

Oubaas was a man-child who couldn’t even run a bath.

Worse still, he cheated on his wife.

Get an endorsement from Hilda, and then we can talk. ?
