South Africa’s number one sports fan Mama Jojo, real name Joy Chauke recently got slammed by many internet users after publicly disclosing that she would be voting for the ANC at the upcoming elections.
The seventh democratic elections will take place on the 29th of this month where many will select who they wish to lead the country for the next four years.
South Africans visiting or living abroad had an opportunity to cast their vote the past weekend in the countries they currently reside in, coming out in numbers to make their voices heard on which party should govern next.
After former South Africa’s Ambassador to France, Monaco and permanent delegate to UNESCO, Nathi Mthethwa voted in Paris, an excited Mama Joy shared a picture of him placing his ballot paper in the ballot box.
She followed with a caption that got a lot of attention from social media users, commenting:
“In Paris, France ambassador Nathi Mthethwa is voting for @MYANC and am also voting for my @MYANC.”

After seeing the post, internet users lambasted Mama Joy for sharing that she was going to vote for the ANC, saying she was only voting for the party because of what it was giving her.
Umdala and no need to sugarcoat, just say you are voting for your stomach, we won’t hate you for that ?♂️

Naturally you are. Have you worked a single day the last 30 years? Or am I, as a taxpayer, paying for your lifestyle?

One user defended Mama Joy commenting:
There’s No need to call her names. If you don’t have innovative ways to make money, you will work for your whole life and remain poor!! No name calling , she’s a old as some of your mothers and sisters.
