Veteran actress Joyce Skefu, best known for her roles in popular dramas Muvhango and Scandal recently showed her followers just how one can come if you refuse to give up.

It has been nearly two years since Joyce suffered a sudden stroke and she is already beginning the rehabilitation journey of restoring her mobility to what it was before the incident occurred.

Taking to Instagram she shared a video of herself attending one of her physiotherapy sessions as she motivates herself to walk again.

As she takes small steps to the side could be heard telling her physiotherapist that this is certainly not easy, to which the physio responded saying, “No it is not.”

In a follow-up post, Joyce shifted her attention to her followers with an update on what exactly took place at the time she had a stroke.

Starting her video, she thanked God for being her healer in one of the weakest times of her life before providing the details.

“Good day my beautiful friends, I thought I should share a bit about my recovery journey, thank you for your kindness, love and support, Love wins.”

She explained that she woke up in the early hours of the morning wanting to go to the bathroom she realised that she struggled to move.

“First and foremost, there was no sign. I just woke up in the morning and I couldn’t walk.”

“I threw myself on the floor and I watched half of my body die slowly. It was so scary. It was traumatising. So I crawled on one side to go to the toilet,” the actress shared.

While she did not give the full account of everything that took place, she shared that more information will be revealed soon.

For Joyce, the peace she has is that God fought for her.

“God fought for me. He kept on lifting the standard against stroke. Stroke is cruel, it’s mean, it’s hiding.”
