Former Minister of Finance, Tito Titus Mboweni landed a new job recently as the new Chancellor of Sefako Makgatho Health Science University (SMU). Tito will serve as Chancellor for the next five years.

SMU is a medical university in Ga-Rankuwa, Gauteng Province. It was previously known as the Medical University of South Africa and later as MEDUNSA campus of the University of Limpopo.

The Chairperson of Councill for the university, Ms MM Rambauli, released a statement announcing the appointment of Tito. Tito came and replaced the former Chancellor, Dr. Zweli Mkhize.

The internet reacted and congratulated Tito on his new role. A post on X (formerly known as Twitter) by MDN News mentioned that Tito immediately went for a haircut after receiving the news.

Some internet users were relieved that he wouldn’t be showcasing his poor cooking skills. The former Minister of Finance has been gracing social media users with pictures of the food he cooks. Users have been disapproving of his cooking abilities.

One commenter from X said, “Well at least they shaved off 5 years from his age with just a haircut, maybe his cooking skills will even improve.”
