Former Bafana Bafana and Fulham soccer player Kagisho Dikgacoi has denied rumours that his marriage to Carina McKechnie is over.

This couple who married in 2016 has been at the centre of public attention after many social media users spotted that the couple were no longer appearing together in one another’s social media posts.

The news of their alleged split has since spread like a wildfire while many still wonder when things have gone south in their relationship.

Putting to an end to the speculation, Kagisho recently revealed that the rumours are far from true, but also urged the public to refrain from spreading false narratives.

In an interview with TshisaLive he revealed that they have been away from one another, but the reason is simply because they both have hectic schedules, and Carina recently got a job opportunity in England.

“My wife and I are still married; it’s just an opportunity came through for her to work in England. She’s a hard worker, and not a single day will pass without talking to her and our kids.”

He explained that he is still adjusting to her absence but that social media followers are not making things easier.

“I’m violated by the remarks, but what can I say. What’s in social media is out of my control. My marriage is intact, from time to time I go to visit my family in England.”

The former meanwhile has his sights set on shifting his knowledge to a different part of the game and is currently busy with his CAF coaching license.
