Ukhozi FM broadcaster and Crown Gospel Awards creator, Zanele Mbokazi has been diagnosed with lung cancer following her hospitalisation due to breathing difficulties and loss of voice while on air.

Her husband, Bishop Mpendulo Nkambule confirmed the diagnosis on Ukhozi FM, “After she struggled to finish her show, we took her to the hospital because initially she had pain and we prayed, and the pain stopped. Then, we decided to check for the cause, doctors checked her and took her to the theatre for the operation to see what the problem was, and they diagnosed her with lung cancer.

“Following her difficulty completing her show, we immediately sought medical attention. Initially, we prayed over her pain, which subsided. However, seeking further medical advice led to her operation, where doctors diagnosed her with lung cancer,” he said.

“We’re praying for her speedy recovery and God to be with us during this difficult time. We’re praying to God to do miracles because we know He’s capable of doing miracles,” he added.

Zanele is recovering in hospital after she had to undergo a theatre procedure recently. After the procedure was done, the media personality updated her friends and fans on her Instagram, noting:

“Just before going to the theatre last night baba, Rev Dr. SD Gumbi prayed for me “Nqaba naye Nkosi (don’t allow the worst to happen Lord). Umhlaba uyalidinga lelizwi eliphilisa imiphefumulo, libuyise ithemba, lizale namaphupho (the world needs this voice that heals souls, returns hope and makes dreams come through)”. Kwabuya amandla (my strength returned).”

The broadcaster recently posted on her Instagram: “I lift my eyes….toughest moment of my life,” she shared.

In another post, she shared a reel of how every corner of her ward has been beautified with flowers by her friends.

“In the midst of pain, confusion and anxiety, friends have beautified every corner of my ward. A garden of sanctuary with a beautiful symphony of smells and fragrances. Ngiyabonga zithandwa (thank you sweethearts) for all the deliveries and your presence.”
