Ashleigh Ogle, South African reality TV star and advocate against gender-based violence (GBV), recently celebrated a victory in a celebrity boxing match, dedicating her win to victims of GBV.

The match, which took place during the Nelson Mandela Boxing Cup in Durban, saw Ashleigh facing off against MMA fighter Cassandra Le Roux.

Ogle’s commitment to the match was motivated by past experiences. The local celebrity has been vocal about her history with gender-based violence (GBV), which includes allegations against her ex, former Springbok Elton Jantjies, whom she dated for three months.

As per The South African, the single mom of one revealed allegations including domestic abuse, substance abuse, and claims of stalking against Jantjies in 2023.

Jantjies denied allegations, and Ogle received a protection order against the former Springbok.

Ashleigh also faced a troubling situation with another ex-boyfriend, rapper Mthunzi ‘Shogun’ Ngani.

An altercation between the pair resulted in assault charges against Shogun, with Ashleigh claiming injuries sustained during the incident.

‘A win for all women’ says Ogle

With a history of GBV behind her, Ogle has advocated for change and women’s empowerment in South Africa, with her drive for making a difference eventually steering her towards the boxing ring, in the first-ever Female STUDEX Celebrity Boxing match.

Earning her win against Cassandra Le Roux on Tuesday, Ashleigh fought for a cause close to her heart – raising awareness about GBV.

“If you are going to fight Gender Based Violence, fighting it doesn’t start when you see two opposite gender fighting, it start with you.” wrote Ogle, in an instagram celebrating her boxing victory against Le Roux.

“This victory was for ALL WOMEN ❤️‍🩹 The most common way women give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any. THIS IS YOUR REMINDER🥇” she added.
