Springbok Captain Siya Kolisi conquered a solo dad mission for a week, as his wife Rachel left the family home in Paris for work and a fundraiser event in Cape Town.

Siya Kolisi passed on the rugby ball last week, as he took on a solo parenting mission with the couple’s two young children, Nicholas and Keziah.

Rachel left family matters in Siya’s hands as she travelled from the family’s new home in Paris to Cape Town for four full days of work at the Kolisi Foundation –an organisation started by the couple that seeks to support people living in under-resourced communities in South Africa.

During her time in the Mother City, the Springbok First Lady also attended a fundraiser event, with Siya’s siblings, Liyema and Liphelo, in tow.

Siya, who is currently playing for Racing 92 in France, put his duties on-field on the back burner, as he took on his solo-parenting week in Paris.

In snaps posted to the rugby captain’s Instagram, the family enjoyed an Adidas shopping spree, lunches, sporting events, and catching up with sporting A-listers in the process – including tennis pro, Stefanos Tsitsipas, after he secured his Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters title.

Kolisi’s caption read:

“Week with these two. @rachelkolisi you can come back anytime now.”

Sticking to his dad duties, Siya recently took to Instagram with another post, bringing his family with for a day of work at the Racing 92 club.

The video started with Kolisi prepping the family for the day – including expertly executing a ponytail for his daughter, Keziah – before hitting the training room for an intense workout, with the Kolisi gang in tow.

Siya is a family player, who often cleans or cooks meals for the tight-knit brood.

The rugby captain has also previously encouraged other men to shoulder more responsibility at home. As per The South African, Kolisi won praise from female followers in 2020, when he issued a challenged for his male followers:

“Starting a challenge for men! Tag me in your house cleaning or cooking posts, and you could win a signed rugby T-shirt”.

As the family settle into a new normal in their home in Paris, the Kolisi couple’s ongoing support and love for one another see them through intense schedules, sports injuries, finding their feet in a new country, and making a difference in the world.

Recently, Siya was named as one of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People for 2024, underlining the champ’s significant impact – both on and off the rugby field.
