MacG declines Gagasi FM gig amid Penny Ntuli salary drama

by Limpho Nonkonyane

Podcast and Chill founder and DJ, MacGyver Mukwevho, popularly known as MacG spoke on declining a radio gig offered by Gagasi FM on his podcast.

In a recent episode of the Podcast and Chill, MacG with his co-hosts Sol Phenduka and GhostLady mentioned receiving a call from the radio station, which he declined without hearing any information further.

MacG has always been candid about not going back to commercial radio as they censor a lot of content that comes out, with little to no creativity or freedom. MacG’s offer decline comes as no surprise given that he founded one of the biggest podcasts in Africa that has gained massive popularity with over 1 million subscribers.

The radio station also made headlines recently over Penny Ntuli being paid R2,800 per month, a rate that is too low.

In the video posted by the online publication MDN News on X (previously known as Twitter), the podcaster says that you have to grind to the point where you make demands on these companies.

One user mentioned the Penny Ntuli salary saga saying:

They wanted to prove that they can pay better than R2800 and have Macg hopefully, brag and tell the public he’s paid well

They still hurt from the support we have Penny and shade they got
