As the 2024 elections draw near, numerous discussions are unfolding regarding the preferred political affiliations of voters, spurred in part by social media users who have voiced scepticism about the ruling party, ANC, and its suitability for continued support.

Many well-known people have shared who they would be voting for. This includes the abaThembu king, King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo who has shown his interest in the EFF.

Recently, he caused a stir on the internet after being seen with the Eastern Cape premier Oscar Mabuyane and the ANC.

Videos and pictures of the King have been shared and reposted on X (formerly known as Twitter) where he sat with Floyd Shivambu and the leadership of EFF whilst he wore his EFF red beret.

When Floyd posted, he wrote, “We also went to pass our regards and greetings to the King of abaThembu, iKumkani Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo! Ah Zwelibanzi!!!”

A controversial X user @Chris_Excel also shared a post and wrote, “In South Africa, we reject the ANC at all costs. If the ANC wins these elections, it would be by corruption ONLY and must be challenged. the Xhosa King Dalindyebo has spoken, the Zulu King Misuzulu has spoken. Follow your Kings. Do not be Amambuka.”
