Cape Town – Despite facing ongoing opposition from the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party in multiple court cases, ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula emphasizes his dedication to ensuring victory for his party in the general elections.
Speaking in Ficksburg, Free State, Mbalula emphasised the ANC’s commitment to its campaign amidst legal battles with the MK party.
The ANC has challenged the registration and trademark of the MK party, asserting ownership over its legacy.
Mbalula described the MK party as invasive and an irritating, saying that the ANC will defend its history and membership.
“We have been doing ANC work MK has invaded our space and we are doing what is right and we are defending what is ours.
[WATCH] We have been doing ANC work. That “mk party” has invaded our space by trying to steal from the ANC. All we have done is defend the ANC from a theft that is being attempted. We don’t spend time on any other political party.

“It’s not spending time on anybody. If Zuma created a party and called it Zuma Come Back, we would not have challenged him,” he said.
Mbalula continued: “Even if we lose the trademark, we will appeal it that is what we will do because that is the trademark of the ANC, we do not spend time on any other political party. We campaign daily.”
“They are an irritation for what they are doing irritating us and knowing very well that this belongs to us and we will stand up for what is good for our membership and ANC history.”
