Reasons why you should visit Thailand

by Staff Bona
THAILAND: PICTURE PEXELS

Thailand is a destination which effortlessly finds itself on the bucket lists of many travel enthusiasts. Blending tradition with modernity, it offers plenty of worthwhile and unforgettable experiences.

There are many reasons why you should visit Thailand at least once in your lifetime. Here are just five:

1. Incredible food

Thai cuisine is known for its rich flavours, as well as the enthusiastic use of fresh herbs and spices. One can find outdoor stalls all over Thailand which serve the cheapest and best meals. There are also plenty of local markets where you can try out some delicious Thai street food. For a bit of fine dining, the destination also boasts a couple of Michelin-starred restaurants.

2. Temples worth seeing

Thailand is home to over 40,000 temples. Although some of these are ethereal ruins, many are still active. The majority of the Thai population is Buddhist, and temples play an important role in the lives of locals.

Some temples even serve as more than just places of worship. Some schools and social hubs are housed in temples. On your visit, there are several must-see temples to look out for including, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep and Wat Mahathat.

3. Pleasant weather

Thailand boasts lovely weather all year round. The destination has three seasons and they are all lovely for tourist travel. One can enjoy warmth, sunshine and lovely swims at any time of the year, although some months are hotter than others. Rain comes in and then goes out just as quickly, cooling you down for more warmth and sun.

4. Friendly locals and warm hospitality

Thailand has been dubbed ‘Land of Smiles’ and this is to reflect the warm, welcoming and friendly nature of its people. Each day is an opportunity to live in a place of kindness and happiness. On your visit, expect a warm welcome, kindness and smiles from strangers.

5. Picturesque and pristine beaches

Thailand is undoubtedly one of the best beach destinations in the world. With parts of the country being a quintessential tropical paradise, it offers the chance to enjoy soft white sands, nodding palms, as well as clear and calm waters. The destination is also perfect for scuba diving, with many dive sites scattered across the country.
