Leeroy Cana, the ex-boyfriend of the late Zoleka Mandela and father of their daughter Zingce, shared online that he was not happy with the limited amount of access he has to his child.

Zoleka died on Monday, 25 September 2023 due to a long battle with cancer. Before her passing, she was admitted to hospital for metastatic cancer treatment that affected her hip, liver, lung, pelvis, brain, and spinal cord.

According to Leeroy, although the former couple dated for nine months, they already felt like they were married. In one of his Instagram posts shared on 1 March, he wrote, “Suddenly when you were pregnant after five months, things were not the same anymore. Things I can’t explain were happening. I wanted to be there at every checkup ka Zingce but, we were not okay, even when Zingce was about to be born, I was surprised by your message, but I respected it. Our baby was born and when I saw you with her for the first time, I saw how much you needed me around you.”

It seems even after Zoleka’s death there are unknown issues between Leeroy and the Mandela family.

While wishing Zingce a happy second birthday, Leeroy thanked an aunt named Lerato for looking after his daughter while Zoleka was ill. He then wrote, “I’m not happy that I don’t have much access to my child, I want her to be with me and play with me all the time. I’m not happy that Aunty is not with you, she was the only person I wanted you to have around. I’m not happy about many things, I don’t want to expose people here but I’m not happy kodwa it’s ok, Daddy loves you. I’ll be with you soon.”

Speaking to his followers, Leeroy concluded, “Please let me know if you guys know any lawyer that deals with kids, I need to change a lot of things.”
