TikTok couple who go by the username @themulaudzis posted a video on the app to show users how much they spent on their monthly groceries.
With the cost of living being high, it’s not surprising that the cost of a whole household’s groceries could amount to R8k.
The Mulaudzis are known to document their marriage and life on the app, the video shared gained massive popularity and many views. In the video, the couple explained that they shopped at four grocery stores Woolworths, Dischem, Pick n Pay and Clicks.
The creator posted the haul on TikTok with the caption, “Why do groceries cost a million rand? Anyway, let’s do a grocery haul! This budget does not include personal toiletries.”

Many TikTok users were shocked at how much the lady spent on her groceries taking to the comment section to express how much they spent on their monthly groceries.
One user said: “For a family of eight I spend between R3000 to R3500 all-inclusive per month.”
