Fighting should never be an answer to any situation but for gender-based violence (GBV) activist Ashleigh Ogle will be stepping into the ring with reality TV star Inno Morolong for a good cause.

The two ladies are set to take part in a celebrity boxing match, on 21 April at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre Complex (popularly known as the ICC Durban). Sponsored by Tumelo Ramaphosa’s company, Studex Meats, the event is also in partnership with the International Boxing Association (IBA) and set to take place during the Nelson Mandela Boxing Cup.

“It’s more than a fight; it’s a battle of titans, an electrifying showcase of strength, grace, and fire,” said Tumelo of the fight on Instagram.

Speaking about her upcoming fight, Ashleigh shared, “The reason why I am doing this is to empower women. As you all know, I have gone through a hell of a lot of stuff.”

Last year, Ashleigh brought forth allegations of domestic abuse, substance abuse and stalking by her ex-boyfriend of three months, Springbok player Elton Jantjies. She revealed to The South African that she had taken a protection order out against him. Ashleigh also allegedly had a tumultuous relationship with renowned composer Lebo M’s stepson, rapper Mthunzi ‘Shogun’ Ngani.

“So, this is my way of showing women that yes, you can stand your ground, and yes, you can accomplish a whole lot of things.”
