WATCH: Man sneaks in alcohol for hospitalised friend

Having a supportive friend throughout all stages of your life can at times be beneficial; you never know when you might need a helping hand. For one friend, his determined buddy went the extra mile by sneaking alcohol into the hospital where he found himself.

On TikTok, a user named Phimmy Louw posted a video sitting on the floor, slyly drinking a box of alcohol hidden in a packet. The person behind the camera, the friend who is admitted to the hospital, shows themselves connected to a drip while the friend takes a few sips of the alcoholic beverage.

Many TikTokers took to the comment section to share similar stories.

One user confessed, “My husband came with Black Label whisky inside an Appletizer bottle.”

Another person shared, “I’m a nurse in a High Care/ICU and we have had patients being brought alcohol. We are aware of it, even doctors put it on their prescription.”

While another person, who did not find humour in the video, added, “We really have a huge alcohol problem as a country. This can’t be cool.”

While the consumption of alcohol is frowned upon by some, if drunk in moderation, alcohol may present potential health benefits.

It is important to note that the potential benefits vary based on an individual’s body makeup and type, advises Medical Daily – a publication comprised of professionals in journalism and medicine working together to make medical information accessible.
