Nadia Nakai celebrates AKA’s birthday

by Limpho Nonkonyane

The late South African rapper and record producer Kiernan Forbes, prominently known as AKA and SUPAMEGA by his fanbase, celebrated his birthday on the 28th of January. The rapper, who was shot and killed in Durban in early February last year, would have been 36 years old had he still been alive.

His girlfriend at the time of his untimely passing, rapper Nadia Nakai, took to her Instagram to celebrate her partner by going to his grave and releasing 36 white biodegradable balloons in the air.

Nadia, who has been trying her best to keep the Megacy alive – releasing a tribute song in honour of the slain rapper – wrote on Instagram, “Happy heavenly birthday @akaworldwide, we all miss you so much!” adding an infinity symbol to indicate that even though he has died, he will still alive in the hearts of those that loved him the most.

She added in her caption, “Got 36 balloons to send to you, and in true Kairo fashion, they had to be biodegradable to not harm the environment. Today is painful.”

Celebrity socialite and businesswoman Amanda Du-Pont commented, “I love that they are biodegradable, nice Kairo, I’ve seen the pain in your eyes. I couldn’t begin to imagine the heavy weight in your heart. Love and healing.”

Rapper and friend Anatii, who collaborated with the late rapper on many songs, said,”LONG LIVE SUPA MEGA.”
