Mpho Popps set to host Comedy Central’s ‘Most Ridiculous’

by Sergio Miller

With Trevor Noah having recently announced his exit from Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, fellow South African Mpho Popps is eager to get his 2024 goals ready to roll.

The popular comedian was recently announced as the new host of Comedy Central’s Most Ridiculous.

The show is one that invites several well-known stars to sit on a couch and react to some of the internet’s funniest videos.

Some of the guests expected to make an appearance include Faith Nketsi, Sol Phenduka, Celeste Ntuli, Farieda Metsileng, Lasizwe, Simone Pretorius, Prev Reddy, Shannon Esra, Radio Raps and Khanyisa Jaceni, ensuring that the laughter never stops.

Mpho, meanwhile, shared a sneak peek on his Instagram account, expressing how excited he was for the opportunity to bring joy and laughter to the homes of South African viewers.

“New Show Alert! This is the most ridiculous show I’ve ever done, which is actually quite ironic because it’s called #MostRidiculous. Set your reminders,” he concluded.

The show is only one of many business ventures as he is also part of the Podcast and Chill Network as the host of Popcorn and Cheese.

In an interview with local news and entertainment publication IOL, Mpho said:

“I am beyond thrilled to be the host of the new season of Most Ridiculous. South Africans are in for a wild ride of laughter, and I can’t wait for them to join us on this hilarious journey.”

Most Ridiculous is set to premiere on DSTV, channel 122 from 5 February at 21h00.
