As the academic year for 2024 kicks off, numerous parents are feeling emotional as their children return to school. With some sharing their children’s first day of school pictures, others are going above and beyond to make it a memorable experience.

TV personality and radio personality Anele Mdoda surprised her son, Alakhe, who started grade three, with a live broadcast at his school, as she didn’t want to miss his first day.

The vibrant Anele and the team from 947 showed up at Alakhe’s school to broadcast for the radio station. She took to her social media to wish her son good luck, adding that he had no idea that she would be there.

Broadcasting live from Alakhe’s school ❤️❤️❤️❤️ he has no idea. He thinks only dad is going to be here but mommy is sneaky #Aneleandtheclubon947 !!!! Good luck to all the little ones starting school today.

Fans on X (formerly Twitter) were praising the DJ for going to extreme lengths for her child.
