The ability to shed and let go in order to allow room for growth is often one of the hardest things that we have to adapt to. While the power of comfort zones and attachment can blind us from bigger, better blessings and accomplishments YouTuber, digital content creator and entrepreneur Thandiwe ‘Thandi’ Gama shares her encounter.

Making her first debut on Instagram this year, the digital creative took to Instagram to share a stunning black and white self portrait. While the act of sharing portraits is not an unfamiliar act from her, we couldn’t help but notice a slight change in hear appearance. To introduce this visible change, she penned down a caption that read, “It’s not a “When a women cuts her hair” moment… it’s just letting go of something I couldn’t save anymore.”

She then welcomed the year and said, Hello 2024! “Letting go” is a lesson from the previous year that made letting go of the hair that no longer serves me easy.”

Grasping the beauty of letting go, she further explained how she admired her hair but however couldn’t prevent it from falling. “I loved how beautiful my hair was but I couldn’t stop it from falling out, all I could do was find out why it was falling out and how to make it stronger again.”

Highlighting that we should never be afraid to restart, she concluded her caption by saying, “So here we are on a new journey again, figuring it all out.”
