The year 2023 was an unbelievable year for MacGyver “MacG” Mukwevho. When you think about setting and breaking records, providing in-depth conversations with guests coming from all walks of life, and keeping the romance alive, it is impossible to ignore that the popular media personality covers all the avenues mentioned.
This has made him a household name both locally as well as internationally, with millions subscribing to his YouTube podcast Podcast and Chill with MacG.
In an interview with local publication The Citizen, the people’s person reflected on the year that past and described it as easily being the best year ever.
“Ah, for me it was the best year of my life. I’ve never had a year like that, I mean from personal achievements to the podcast growing, reaching a million, and filling up SunBet,” MacG told The Citizen.
“There are so many things I could mention about last year that were phenomenal and amazing. It has to be the greatest year of my life so far.”

The past year saw him reaching 1 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, and also walking away with the award for Podcast of the Year at the DStv Content Creator Awards.
On a personal note, he recently got married to the mother of his child, Naledi Monamodi, in a lovely traditional wedding, and received well wishes from his devoted fans.
As the new year progresses, he says that he would like to continue his journey with YouTube and has aspirations of taking the podcast all around the world.
“The main objective and our strategy is to grow, not just in South Africa but around the world and especially in Africa. The aim this year is to take the podcast on the road and grow, God willing.”
