Internet users deem Focalistic’s university degree ‘useless’

Former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela once said: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” While this inspiring quote rings true, many social media users feel that amapiano star Focalistic’s degree may not be able to do so.

A University of Pretoria alumnus, the graduation video of Focalistic – born Lethabo Sebetso – recently resurfaced on X (formerly known as Twitter) and had many people feeling that his Political Science degree (according to MDN News) was ineffectual.

Taking to the comment section, here is what most had to say:

“One of the most useless degrees ever.”

“It’s like going to varsity to study soccer in order to become a player. Waste of time.”

“I hope he has connections because without them that degree is useless.”

Other social media users backed away from calling the degree useless and instead congratulated the Straata hitmaker on his previous achievement:

“A role model to the youth. He made his momma proud first and then got to it for himself.”

“Congratulations to him. I’m sure he had reasons why he chose political science degree. People should leave him alone and focus on their degrees if they have them.”

“No degree is useless, depends how you make it open doors for you.”
